Back to School

Parent orientation is in a few days, and I always have something special for my new students when they meet their new teacher. Since I have an ocean theme this year, I've made these cute goldfish treats that say "Of all the little fish in the sea, I'm glad you were picked for me." Score your own free fish treat tag from my TPT store at this link https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Fish-treat-tags-2653165

For camping theme in previous years, they would get a treat bag with s'more ingredients. Here is a picture of the bags.

And, I scored the FREE treat tags from

Did you know that you can buy perfectly sized marshmallows for making s'mores? These were perfect for making my great bags for open house!

FREEBIE..Back to school MAGIC CONFETTI! This is something I send home each year with my students at parent/teacher orientation prior to school starting. It is a cute way to encourage students and help them get those jitters out the night before school. This is a link to Mrs. Lewis' Learning Library where she has a free printout of the Magic Confetti poem and an envelope tag. Enjoy!

FREEBIE!!  Here is a poem 'Thoughts from the top of the Beanstalk' that I send home with my parents every year at orientation. I found it many years ago, and have been using it since. This is a sweet poem about a little boy named Jack who is climbing his first beanstalk (school), and how his mom is very nervous about this experience. Then it goes on to say how it is the first of many beanstalks in his life, and it encourages parents to cheer their kids on. It is a tear jerker but encourages parents. The author is unknown. I can't find this poem anywhere except in my back to school folder. So, I'm sharing it for everyone to use for FREE. Enjoy! Just click on the image below, and it should take you to the poem to download and print.

Back to School Poem for Parents-Thoughts from the top of t
On the first day of school, we read Pete the Cat Rockin in his School Shoes. We then follow clues that Pete left us around the school as we tour our school. We visit the art room, library, lunch room, gym, office, nurse, computer lab, and playground, At the end of the tour, Pete leaves us a basket do goodies (pop rocks, water color paint, and a page for us to paint). I let the kids  paint their picture and eat their pop rocks right after their tour. Makes a fun first day.
